The performance of the Deore XT shifter will fully win you over. Thanks to the rubber pads, it fits very comfortably against your thumb and requires little effort despite the shorter lever travel. It also shifts precisely and quickly back and forth between the sprockets. When shifting to a larger chainring, the lever is pushed forward as usual. Downshifting can be done in two different ways thanks to the 2-Way Release system. Either pull the lever back with your index finger, or give it another quick nudge with your thumb—the Instant-Release function releases the Bowden cable as soon as you press the lever, rather than when you let go, which significantly speeds up the gear change. Additionally, you can skip multiple sprockets in both directions. The high-quality OPTISLICK inner cable also contributes to fast shifting. Its electroplated coating allows it to glide more smoothly through the outer casing and ensures excellent corrosion resistance.
